Last week, we established the need for Mobile Marketing, and I invited you to participate in the M3 – Mobile Marketing Virtual Summit that MENG and the Mobile Marketing Association will present on Wednesday, the 18th. The following are a few concepts that will help you understand a person speaking “mobile marketing.”

Location Based Marketing – a Zen definition

Location Based Marketing is the art of transforming consumer shared location information into revenues. Note that it does not track or stalk customers but uses information they decide to share to create an exchange of value. Remember that mobile technology is being used to create relationships with customers. Therefore, we must be very careful on how we use their information. This brings to my mind a phrase from Robert M. Pirsig in his book, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, “…It’s not technology that’s scary. It’s what it does to the relation between people…”
